Hebrews 11:6
| NASB | NLT | VOICE |
| 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. | 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. | 6 Without faith no one can please God because the one coming to God must believe He exists, and He rewards those who come seeking. |
Have you ever wondered about what would happen to those that do not confess that they believe in God after they die? God assures us that everyone that honestly seeks him will be rewarded. How does one honestly seek God? They must act in faith on the knowledge of God that they have. The key phrase is to act in faith. We must understand who God is and what it means to follow him as Jesus led his ministry. To understand how God loves, how to care for his neighbor, how to fight for his creation, and how to speak up for the marginalized, and more. When we share our journey with others, encourage them to be honest and diligent in their search for the truth. Be open with your questions, have conversations about the parts that are confusing and concerning, and work together to build your journey. God did not create us to do life alone. There will be those who are concerned, afraid, and fearful about being a Christian due to misinterpretations of the scripture or past trauma and experiences with Christians, but we need work towards meeting those people where they are and create a path of restoration and changed beliefs.
Hebrews 7:19
| NASB | NLT | VOICE |
| 19 (for the Law made nothing perfect); on the other hand, there is the introduction of a better hope, through which we come near to God. | 19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. | 19 after all, the law could not make anyone or anything perfect. God has now introduced a new and better hope, through which we may draw near to Him, |
The Bible wants you to know that your body is God’s temple. It is a home for the Holy Spirit, to allow us to go out and do when God has called us to do. The Spirit calls and craves for closeness to God. Therefore, you should draw close to God through prayer, worship, Bible study, fellowships, and instructions from other believers. You want to know God personally, not as a concept. You should know God as a friend, teacher, counselor, healer, and more. For those different aspects of God, you want to know them intimately and closely in order to comprehend, understand, and live out through faith.
Now for some, going to worship has just become something to do instead of being an experience to connect with your Savior. Worship should be a top priority. It could be through prayer, music, reading scripture or other theology books. The idea is that you should do this through your own way. Going to a church service is niche and hard to do nowadays because of all the different styles of worship and different denominations. Relying on a church service to feed you at all times is not helpful. Create a space to read your scripture or listen to your scripture. Use some time to listen to worship music. In your quiet time, speak to your Savior. Allow you to use your time to connect with God and draw closer to him daily.
