Romans 8:32

32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?	32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?	32 If He did not spare His own Son, but handed Him over on our account, then don’t you think that He will graciously give us all things with Him?

The Cross Proves God’s Commitment

God made the ultimate sacrifice by not withholding his own Son. God did so to share the love and commitment he had in redeeming humanity’s bondage to sin. Jesus giving Himself on the cross is central to our belief system as Christians. The fact that this happened in Jerusalem and under Roman governance shows the intersection of cultures that were fighting to keep him and/or kill him. Jesus died for the sins of the entire world. If God was willing to give his only son up to save us, then it follows logically that he will provide for the lesser things we need. The promise of all things is that God’s provision will cover everything. Jesus discussed this in Matthew 6:33. He discussed that seeking God’s kingdom will result in all necessary things being added to believers. God will give us these things through his grace. 

Faith Unlock, Not Effort

God’s gifts to us are freely given, not earned. I know there’s been an argument within different sectors of the church about the “faith with works” and “faith without works.” From my years of studying the Bible, what God gifts to us is through our faith in him. He created us with these gifts in mind when he set the path he has for us. These gifts are ignited when we begin our relationship with God. It’s as simple as that. The only “work” we need is to trust in him. When we seek God’s kingdom, we start to understand the gifts he provides and the talents that are within us through the holy spirit. When we start to seek how we can use these gifts to grow the kingdom of God, we will see his blessings shine greater than ever before. We will find it easier to trust in his provision, because we have grown our trust in him through this process. We can live with gratitude and humility thanks to God, and the sacrifices He made for us so we can have a relationship with him.

2. What is one blessing that you can trace back to God?
3. How are you actively seeking the Kingdom?

Call to Action

Write a list of things you’re worried about. Read Romans 8:32 aloud. Let it remind you that God has shown that He will give everything we need.
