2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to help him be stronger in faith.
This verse talks about setting a good example for the people around us. I misread this verse initially, thinking it emphasized more about “pleasing” our neighbor. Instead, it talks about doing things for their good and significantly to help increase strength in their faith. I believe this means that we need to set an example in our actions for others around us to see and also find ways to check in with our neighbors to see how they are doing. I believe to check in all around. Our faith can waver in physical, mental, and spiritual circumstances. The physical struggles we face each day can cause our faith to drop because God is helping us recover physically. The mental struggles can lessen our faith because our God “shouldn’t give us more than we can handle.” Our spiritual struggles can confuse our faith because we think God appears false to our current beliefs. It happens to me, and I’m sure it happens to you. So, let’s try and set an example for the world. Be good too and for each other. Let’s show them how that looks.
