Psalm 68 is a psalm of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. David expresses pride in God for his care over people is people and presence in the universe. Theologians believe that David wrote this after restoring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. There are many names for God, with six titles mentioned in this Psalm alone. David is celebrating God and the Ark’s return to Jerusalem. We can celebrate God as well. We may not have as big of moments as David did, but I encourage you to celebrate God at any moment. Even if it’s celebrating your first breath when you wake up, it’s a great reason to celebrate. It could be with a prayer of praise or singing your favorite hymn or worship song. It doesn’t matter how your worship and rejoice in our God. Rejoice can mean “favorably disposed to God’s grace.” We were given God’s grace by choice. Grace is God’s crazy love for us, and we have that at all times. Nothing you or I can do to have God’s grace taken from us. So again, celebrate and Worship our Lord as you go through your day! God wants to hear from you in the big and the small moments.
