Redemption, Blood, Forgiveness, and more.

Redemption is biblically defined as the act of being set free from bondage or slavery, often through the payment of a ransom. In the Old Testament, this is shown in the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. In the New Testament, this is shown in the spiritual realm, freeing believers from the bondage of sin and death. The shedding of blood was prominent in the Old Testament sacrificial system. Jesus’ blood shows the ultimate sacrifice, fulfilling the requirements of the Law and forming a new covenant. Forgiveness involves the removal of guilt and the restoration of a right relationship with God. Trespasses are sins or violations of God’s law. The forgiveness is granted through Christ’s atoning work. Grace is an unmerited favor. God’s grace is the basis for redemption and forgiveness, 

God’s Gift of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a release from the debt of sin. It’s a complete pardon from our sin. God forgives and forgets our sinful behavior. God doesn’t hold it against us. God doesn’t bring it back up to make us feel guilty or ashamed. There’s nothing that we can do to earn this forgiveness. God’s mercy as a part of his gift of grace. God loves us so much that he wants to see his children thrive to the expectation that he created us to live. This grace is gifted to us through the sacrifice of Jesus. The fact that God sent His only human son to the world so that He could provide a source of eternal forgiveness in order to pull humanity back together into a right state with him.

Above everything, remember this: I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the Blood.

Call to Action

Take this time to simply thank God for his grace and mercy. Thank Him for sending His one and only son to die for us so that we can have a right relationship with Him.
