Tone of Voice Matters || James 3:17-18 || Mid-Week Midrash #36

17 But the wisdom that comes from God is like this: First, it is pure. Then it is also peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. This wisdom is always fair and honest.

18 When people work for peace in a peaceful way, they receive the good result of their right living.

God’s voice should be gentle and friendly. If you’re hearing from God and about God and it isn’t coming from that gentle and friendly voice, then there’s a problem. As followers of God, we learn that we should be ready to help those in whatever trouble they’re in and do good things for one another. Again, if we are not showing others that God is gentle and friendly, there’s a problem. When people work for a gentle and peaceful voice, they see positives happening in the world around them and within them. It just matters how we hear the voice of God.
