17 God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.
The verse after the most well-known verse in the Bible. The verse that gets overlooked more than I’d like to believe. This verse says a lot. God didn’t send Jesus to judge us. God didn’t send someone to condemn us or make us feel bad. God sent someone to save us and help us heal from our sins. I like this. We often beat ourselves up for things we do that are wrong or bad. We often relive these actions and memories again and again. We get highly emotional when others bring up these moments. Why would God, who sees how we act, send us a Savior to do the thing we do so well. We need someone to combat those harsh memories and toxic thought patterns and teach us how to heal and no longer focus on what we did. Jesus does that through his words, actions, and teachings. God sent his Son into this world for us because of his crazy love. To have his Son die for you and me so that we can develop this relationship with Jesus and give us a place in heaven eternally. Jesus’s death is not an act of judgment, conviction, or condemnation, but love and mercy!
