Scripture: Psalm 119:11
Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, that I may not sin against you.
Midrash
This follows what we learned last week. As we read and reflect on God’s word day and night, we learn how to be strong and courageous and not be fearful or intimidated by whatever comes our way. This week, the psalmist reminds us to hold God’s word close to us so we won’t sin against God. It is good to know what God’s word says so that you can follow it closely, but it’s hard to understand what the Bible says. In the Old Testament, we have 613 laws, and then Jesus simplifies them into 2 rules. What do we follow? Jesus tells us to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind and then love others as we love ourselves. I believe that those two rules will lead us to give glory to God in all areas. Think about how you can show God to others through these two rules this week.
