Today’s song is “When I Fall” by Katy Nichole. It was released in 2025 as part of her album, “Learning How to Love Myself.

In a post she made on Facebook (link down below), she said that this song is a song she wrote out of complete desperation. She wanted honesty with God. She was done trying to be “Ok.” God met here through this song and wanted to share it with the community. (paraphrased from this post: https://www.facebook.com/katynicholemusic/posts/when-i-fall-was-a-song-i-wrote-out-of-complete-desperation-i-just-decided-to-be-/1146642867023199/)

Listen to the raw vulnerability right off the bat:

Lord I can’t find you right now

And everything is crashing down

I’m losing faith and falling into my doubts.

How long will I have to fight.

Just for me to stay alive.

I know you’re there God please just meet me here tonight.

I’ve been there. I’m sure you have as well. Things just aren’t good. They are too much. They are overwhelming. Life can beat us to a pulp. We hear that God won’t give us more than we can handle, but there are true times when we cannot handle things. However, we learn that God is always with us. God provides us with a way out of our struggles. God will meet us where we are, receive everything that we are dealing with and will help us walk away with a plan to recover through him.

This one hits me very uniquely. I’ll explain why in a moment:

There’s hardly air in my lungs.

With all the damage that’s been done.

Lord please sustain me now, I know you are enough.

I’ve been struggling with anxious dry heaving the last two months. This job I’m in at this time has been severely affecting my health, physically and emotionally. I’m stuck in a cycle of fight-or-flight that is hard to settle out of. The dry heaving makes it hard to breathe at times. Today, as of writing this, I was in a major panic attack between work and some personal things. Yet, I have learned that God is with me through this battle. God will see me through this battle. I just have to be able and willing to work towards leaning on him some more. I have been working to ensure my soul is good with the job and working towards finding a space that I can honor God with the best of my abilities. God’s will be done. God’s justice be served – and he will provide.
